We assess all our students before accepting them onto our full or fast track courses. We have found that this enables all children on the course to be at the same educational level as each other, allowing us to deliver the material to each child at the correct level. The assessment also allows us to advise parents on the best course of action for their child.
Each assessment includes a detailed phone conversation with each parent after the assessment, followed by an individual meeting if required. We make sure all our parents understand the way we work, our expectations, our course content and what the parental role entails for our 11+ courses. Each assessment lasts two to three hours.
What do we test in the assessment?
Your child should not prepare for the assessment. It is designed to gauge a child’s current academic level. The assessment includes:
- Vocabulary knowledge (including synonym and antonym tests)
- Verbal Reasoning
- Mathematics Test (mental maths)
- Mathematics Test (worded problems)
- Non-verbal reasoning
We also provide each parent with the contact details of some of our old parents who are happy for our prospective parents to contact them to discuss our courses and the services we offer.
